CAMILA PONTUAL

Camila is Deputy Coordinator for International and Cooperation for the City of Rio de Janeiro since 2021. Camila also works a reviewer for IPCCC report for policymakers.

 

Previously, Camila worked as a Program Associate for Climate and Use Alliance (CLUA) at Ford Foundation, in Brazil, focusing on deforestation and fostering environmental public policies in the Amazon and Cerrado biome. Camila helped implement the strategy and leverage the project's portfolio up to over 100 projects. Camila also supports covid-19 related projects in the Amazon.

 

Prior to joining CLUA, Camila worked as an advisor to the Mayor’s Office of Rio de Janeiro on sustainability and strategic affairs, supporting the Chairman of the C40- Cities Climate Leadership Group.

 

She holds a masters in Sustainable Territorial Development from the Université de Paris I - Sorbonne, and previously studied international relations at Rio de Janeiro’s Catholic University and Economics at the Federal Fluminense University.
